It looks like 2017 will be a year of big moves for Prince William, Duchess Kate, George and Charlotte. The young royal family is set to relocate will back to London in time for George to start school.
The couple currently reside at Anmer Hall in Norfolk with their two children, Prince George, three, and one-year-old Princess Charlotte, but are expected to make Kensington Palace their main base some time this year. The Telegraph reports that the couple have already put the young Prince's name down for the Wetherby School in London, which was previously attended by Prince William and Prince Harry.

This is just one of the several reasons that it is speculated that the pair will be moving to Kensington Palace permanently. It is also thought that the Duke and Duchess will be taking on more official royal duties and will be expanding their charity work, with Prince William even possibly leaving his career as a helicopter pilot. The Telegraph also reports that the Duke and Duchess are keen to take on more royal roles, and so have given the decision a great deal of thought, particularly in regards to their children's future schooling.

They will certainly be taking on more charity work after it was announced that the Queen will step down from 25 of her nation organisation patronages by the end of 2016, passing them on to other members of the family including Prince William and Kate. It has been announced that Kate will take over the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) Wimbledon, while Prince William is expected to take over the Welsh Rugby Union. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "Her Majesty is currently Patron of more than 600 organisations and has enjoyed a close and active association with a great number of them throughout her reign. Her Majesty will continue to serve as Patron to hundreds of charities and institutions but will now share this work with her family. Many of the organisations listed below already have other Members of the Royal Family as Vice-Patrons or Presidents which will ensure a smooth transition."
