He's growing up fast! Prince George is tipped to follow in his dad's footsteps later this year, by enrolling in a new school in London.

The young royal is expected to start at the £6,865-a-term Wetherby School, a stone's throw from Kensington Palace. His father Prince William and uncle Prince Harry both attended the pre-preparatory school in Notting Hill; William was photographed arriving with his mother Princess Diana on his first day, aged four, in 1987.

Prince Charles is believed to have chosen the school for its close proximity to their London home, and according to Ken Wharfe, who was Prince William's bodyguard when he started at Wetherby, it would be an obvious choice for George too. The school has the motto 'Care, Share and Be Fair'.

"They were certainly very happy times for William and of course his brother," Ken told HELLO! magazine.

Last May, William revealed that he and his wife Kate were searching for a suitable place for their son. He said of George and George's little sister Princess Charlotte: "They're both doing very well at the moment – noisy but lovely. Just trying to sort out schools now – it's going very well."

William, 34, and Kate, 35, are said to be considering a return to London as their son prepares to start school, despite having settled into family life at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The Cambridges are expected to return to London later this year

William, who works as a pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance, has a contract with Bond Air Services but this is due to end in March. The coming months will give him time to carry out engagements on behalf of the Queen and to decide if the time is right to become a full-time royal.

Kate is thought to be keen to step up her royal duties, too, and expand the work of the Royal Foundation she heads with William and Prince Harry.
