Princess Iman of Jordan: All the facts about Queen Rania's look-alike daughter

Princess Iman of Jordan, the eldest daughter of Queen Rania and King Abdullah II, is gradually emerging as one of the most captivating young princesses on the royal circuit. When she isn't focusing on her university studies in Washington, Iman is back in Jordan, helping support her lookalike mum at official engagements.

Here, we look back at some of Iman's biggest moments in the spotlight...

Iman was born on Sept. 27 1996 in the capital city of Jordan, Amman. She is the eldest daughter and second child of Queen Rania and King Abdullah, following her brother Crown Prince Hussein, who is two years older.

Iman has a younger sister, Princess Salma, and brother Prince Hashem.

From a young age Iman and her siblings have taken part in official photocalls with their parents.

The princess has also accompanied Rania and Abdullah to royal engagements, such as the commemorations in 1999 in honour of Abdullah's late father King Hussein of Jordan.

The family also regularly send out a New Year's greeting card, featuring Rania and Abdullah with their four children.

This card, from 2007, bore verses from the Quran to remind recipients that the king is a Hashemite, a member of the same family of the Prophet Muhammad.

When Iman was just ten years old, she accompanied her mum Rania on an official visit to Japan.

The mother-daughter duo visited the Sodo Kimono Academy in Tokyo where they had the chance to dress in traditional costume.

Iman has also been on tour with her parents to the UK, France, Italy and China.

Showing an aptitude for sports from a young age, Iman participated in the Middle East Championships horse show at the royal stables in Amman when she was 12.

She won second prize riding her horse Saqir, an Arab filly.

Iman showed support for her father's initiative, encouraging youth to become physically more active.

The young schoolgirl, along with 12,000 students from 148 schools, participated in the scheme and was awarded a medal by her dad herself.

During a visit to France in 2008, the Jordanian royal family graced the red carpet at the film premiere of Quantum of Solace.

Iman was just 12 at the time but she was already travelling the world as a representative of the royal family.

The royals stepped out for the tenth anniversary of King Abdullah II's accession to the throne in 2009.

Iman showed she was growing up to be a beautiful young lady, wearing a colourful printed dress for her dad's big day.

Iman and her older brother Hussein have always been regular fixtures at momentous national events.

Here the princess is pictured attending a ceremony to celebrate the 64th Independence Day in Amman, Jordan.

At the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria to Prince Daniel in June 2010, Abdullah, Rania and Iman were among the royal guests.

The 13-year-old looked as stylish as her mum, opting for a floor-length purple gown that mirrored Rania's.

To mark the king and queen's 20th wedding anniversary in 2013, the family, minus Prince Hussein, posed for an official portrait.

Rania was her stunning self, placing an affectionate hand on her lookalike daughter's arm.

In June 2014 Iman graduated from the International Academy Amman, where she had been studying with her paternal cousin Muna Juma.

The princess was crowned the top athlete in her class and on her graduation day, she was joined by her proud parents and her siblings.

The princess has helped her mum in her philanthropic ventures, such as this event in 2015 when Iman accompanied Rania on an Out and About walk.

The organisation promotes global citizenship messages using five principles: love, peace, acceptance, tolerance and generosity.

Iman is fast becoming a style icon in her own right, following in her mother's footsteps.

The royal looked radiant in a fit and flare dress by Alexander McQueen during a visit to Jouy-en-Josas in France in 2015.

During Ramadan, the princess also accompanies her mum to a feast with orphans, where they have iftar - the evening meal when Muslims break their fast at sunset.

This isn't the first time Iman has joined Rania at the charity event. She was pictured at a similar gathering in 2014.
