Just hours after announcing her pregnancy, Princess Sofia of Sweden stepped out for a lavish event at the royal palace in Stockholm. The mum-of-one, who was accompanied by her dapper husband Prince Carl Philip, looked regal in a red full-length gown for the palace's first official dinner of the year. Sofia, mum of baby Prince Alexander, completed her look by sweeping her brunette tresses back with an elegant tiara.
The couple were joining King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria — who dazzled in a green gown and tiara — and Prince Daniel. A video was uploaded to the royal family's official Instagram account, showing the couples making their way to the sit-down meal at Karl XI's Gallery. The palace was adorned with beautiful spring flowers, including cherry blossom, almond blossom, tulips, daffodils, lilacs and hyacinth for the special dinner.

Earlier in the day, the Swedish Royal Court announced that Sofia and Carl are expecting their second child together. "We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family," the couple said in a statement. The royals' impending bundle of joy is due this September and will join big brother, Prince Alexander, who was born last April.
