Speculation has been rife that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will play starring roles at the upcoming wedding of their aunt Pippa Middleton to James Matthews in May. And now it has been confirmed that the young royals will indeed take centre stage. George, who turns four in July, will act as a page boy, while Charlotte, who will have just turned two, will be a bridesmaid.

The announcement comes just days after Pippa's older sister Kate was spotted visiting the bride-to-be at home in west London. The Duchess of Cambridge was pictured leaving Pippa's house, which she shares with fiancé James, in Chelsea. It's believed the sisters were discussing last-minute wedding plans ahead of the big day.

While details of the wedding are being kept under wraps, HELLO! has previously revealed that James and Pippa will say 'I do' on Saturday 20 May. The couple have chosen to marry at St Marks' Church in Englefield, Berkshire – a Grade I-listed country church that dates back to the 13th century. The couple have asked Rev. Nick Wynne-Jones, resident priest at St Mark's, to officiate.

The reception will be held back at the Middletons' family home in Bucklebury, seven miles away. The beautiful 18 acres are the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding reception. Michael and Carole Middleton's estimated £5.6million, seven-bedroom Berkshire property has ample grounds to accommodate a luxurious marquee, screened by surrounding woodland and fields.

It is believed that Kate, 35, will play a pivotal role on the day, but she will most likely not be the maid of honour for fear of stealing the spotlight from the bride. Used to public speaking, she may do a reading during the service.
