April 12, 2017

The Duchess of Cornwall's landmark 70th birthday this summer will be a family affair. Camilla opened up in a new interview with The Sun about her plans to celebrate with her grandchildren on her special day, 17 July. "I think what we will do is have a tea party," Prince Charles' wife said. "We will get them to bake a cake together and we will have a singsong of Happy Birthday." Camilla, who has two children, Tom and Laura, from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, has five grandchildren including Eliza Lopes, who served as a bridesmaid at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 2011 wedding.

The Duchess plans on celebrating her birthday this summer with her grandchildren

It's no surprise that the Duchess's grandchildren will take part in her birthday festivities, since she credits them as being one of the sources of her happiness. When asked what gives her the most joy in her life, the royal answered: "Obviously my husband, my family, my friends and to see my grandchildren when they are all playing together and happy." She added: "When I come back from a trip, that first moment I see them with their sweet faces gives me such joy."

The couple, who tied the knot in 2005, recently celebrated their twelfth wedding annniversary

During the interview, Camilla also opened up about her marriage to the Queen's eldest son. The Duchess, who recently celebrated her twelfth wedding anniversary with Charles on April 9, revealed that she and the Prince, 68, enjoy passing their time together in the garden. The mum-of-two shared: "The Prince is a great gardener and I share his passion. Anything I plant, to actually watch it grow gives me great pleasure."
