George Clooney and Amal get baby advice from a royal - find out which one

April 24, 2017

From one father of twins to an expectant one, Prince Albert shared some advice for soon-to-be dad George Clooney. "George should pour himself a good cup of coffee each morning," the Monaco royal told People magazine. "I know that sounds pretty standard but it’s really, really important." Apart from "strong coffee," Albert, who shares two-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella with wife Princess Charlene, also suggested "easy reading."

Princess Grace Kelly's son noted that A Dad's Guide to Twins by Joe Rawlinson "was really helpful" for him. Albert said, "It has some sound advice and is pretty easy to read." Ahead of his twins's arrival, the Prince advised that the Hollywood, 55, star get "some sleep stored away before the babies are born." Though hopefully sleeping at night won't be an issue for the actor and his wife Amal Clooney since it wasn't for Albert and Charlene. "Fortunately for Charlene and for me, that was never really an issue," the 59-year-old royal admitted. "Gabriella and Jacques were relatively good sleepers from the start. Of course, there were — still are — nights where they have to be in the bedroom with us." He added, "I know it seems very common sense, but having a separate room — in our case a nursery — or even a separate area prepared makes it easier for both parents to get some sleep in turns."

As for when the Clooney babies arrive, Albert said that telling apart twins is "less of an issue" than many would think. He explained, "They're different from one another, they move differently — and in our case, Jacques was much smaller than his sister when they were born, it was pretty easy to pick him out."

Julie Chen confirmed in early February that George and Amal are expecting twins. Shortly after, George broke his silence on becoming a first-time father, telling French news outlet Rencontres de Cinema, "We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure," adding, "We've sort of embraced it all… with arms wide open." Last month the Oscar winner admitted that his wife had vetoed his moniker suggestions for their impending bundles of joy. "My wife says I can't name them Casa and Amigos. That's the one thing I'm not allowed to do," the 55-year-old joked with Entertainment Tonight, adding, "It was just a thought. I mean, you know, it's a family business."
