April 25, 2017

Princess Charlene is looking forward to the day that she can take her children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, to her native Africa. "I am African. This is my home. It will always be. It’s in my heart. It's in my veins," Prince Albert's wife said in a new interview with Eyewitness News. "I can't wait for them to come here and I can't wait for them to be introduced to Africa."

The Princess admitted that she wants to take her children to her native Africa

The Monaco royal is currently visiting her home country with the South African Red Cross and her Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. Discussing her foundation, the mom-of-two said, "I created the foundation on the basis that we would teach children to swim, people to swim and then we’ve expanded to water safety programs and now we’ve just implemented CPR." During her trip, Charlene taught children essential first aid and CPR in order to give them an essential skill as orphans with responsibility for their siblings.

The royal, who is a former Olympic swimmer, admitted in her interview that she wanted to introduce her children to the water after they were born in 2014. "The first thing that I wanted to do when I had my children, Jacques and Gabriella, that I would want to teach them water safety," the 39-year-old said. "It was important for me to get my children familiar with the water and obviously to learn to swim so they would feel comfortable in the aquatic environment." The Princess revealed that while she still enjoys swimming, she does not watch the sport as often as she would like. She explained, "I'm very busy with my children at the moment and my program."

Earlier this month, Prince Albert opened up about his two-year-old twins’s learning skills, crediting his wife for their advancements. "[Gabriella] was the first with letters and numbers, but Jacques has caught up with her now," Albert shared. "I think that's entirely Charlene's influence, and they are both pretty even." The doting mom-of-two previously revealed that her children are inquisitive and enjoy asking her questions. She told Paris-Match Magazine, "They want to know everything, to understand everything, to ask me thousands of questions. They also want to try everything."
