The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary

William, 34 and Kate, 35 exchanged vows on Friday 29 April, 2011 in Westminster Abbey, London. The Duchess looked stunning in her long-sleeved Alexander McQueen wedding dress, complimented by her sapphire and diamond engagement ring that once belonged to William’s mother Princess Diana. Well-wishers the world over watched the ceremony on TV screens and many lined the streets outside the Abbey. William proposed to Kate on holiday in Kenya in October 2010.

No formal event has been announced to mark the anniversary, however it is likely that the Duke and Duchess are celebrating privately. Last weekend was a busy one for the royal couple, who are parents to George, three and Charlotte, one. They attended the London Marathon to support runners from the Heads Together campaign – a charity raising awareness for mental health issues. William and Kate opened the marathon along with Prince Harry, spending the day cheering on competitors and meeting runners from the charity.
