Carole Middleton has been spotted shopping just hours after her third royal grandchild was born. In pictures obtained by MailOnline, the Duchess of Cambridge's mother was seen picking up essentials from Boots and department store Peter Jones while Prince William took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to visit the family's latest addition at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington. Dressed down in tight jeans and a beige jacket, the 63-year-old appeared to be in relaxed spirits. She will no doubt pay a visit to Kate and the new Prince in the privacy of Kensington Palace.

It's a busy time in the Middleton household following reports that Carole's youngest daughter, Pippa Middleton, is expecting her first child with husband James Matthews. According to The Sun on Sunday, Pippa, 34, and 42-year-old James, a hedge fund manager, are said to be "overjoyed" with the news. They got engaged in July 2016, and tied the knot at St Mark's Church in Englefield on 20 May 2017. It is believed that Pippa and James recently told close family and friends after the 12-week scan.

Meanwhile, news that Kate had given birth to her third baby was confirmed at 1pm on Monday 23 April. A statement from Kensington Palace read: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news."

Shortly after the arrival, the royal couple introduced their new bundle of joy to the world. Ktae, 36, looked glowing as she cradled her child on the steps of the Lindo Wing, less than seven hours after giving birth. She stood out in a vibrant, block red Jenny Packham shift dress with an oversized, delicate white floral lace collar. The Prince, whose name has not yet been announced, wore white – wrapped in a lace shawl with a matching bonnet.
