The Swedish royal family came together on Friday to celebrate a very important event – Princess Adrienne's christening – and it was the youngest members of the family who stole the show. Doting mum Princess Madeleine arrived just before noon with her baby daughter cradled in her arms, while her husband Chris O'Neill carried their son, Prince Nicolas, two. Their eldest child, four-year-old Princess Leonore, was also at her parents' side.

Members of the family in attendance included King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Madeleine's older sister Crown Princess Victoria, her older brother Prince Carl Philip and their adorable young families. Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel were joined in their front row seats by their two-year-old son Prince Oscar; their daughter Princess Estelle was notably missing. Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia each had one child in their arms – baby Prince Gabriel and Prince Alexander, two.

The ceremony, which was held at the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace, took place on 8 June, which is another very important date in Madeleine and Chris' love story – it was their fifth wedding anniversary.

Take a look at all the adorable photos from the christening…

She was as good as gold, wearing the traditional baptismal gown that has been passed down through generations. Adrienne's young cousins all wore the dress at their christening, as did Princess Madeleine, Princess Victoria and Prince Carl Philip. Each baby's name is embroidered into the hem of the gown.

The children were invited up to the altar to see the water being poured into the baptismal font. In keeping with tradition, the water used is collected from a source on the island of Öland.
