It is thought that Meghan attended the final to support her friend Serena, who attended Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry back in May with her husband, Alexis Ohanian.
The couple looked delighted to be in each other's company as they chatted together. Meghan dressed for the occasion in a Ralph Lauren collection shirt and high waisted cream trousers, while accessorising the look with an Altuzarra bag, while Kate wore a classic white dress by Jenny Peckham and carried a small Dolce and Gabbana handbag.
Prior to the Wimbledon Ladies' Singles Final, the two Duchesses met several former Wimbledon Ladies Champions, as well as some of The Championships' ball boys and ball girls, to hear more about their experiences of the tournament. The pair looked delighted to be out on the summer's day as they chatted to the group.
Serena Williams recently spoke about Meghan attending the match, and how the pair have a "wonderful friendship". She explained: "Every year for a couple years she comes out to Wimbledon and has supported me. Now she's supporting me in a different role, but our friendship is still exactly the same."
Meghan has previously opened up about how welcoming Kate was to her when she started dating her brother-in-law, Prince Harry. During Harry and Meghan's first televised interview as an engaged couple, Harry said: "William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine. So, you know, being our neighbors we managed to get that in quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely... amazing," while Meghan adding: "She's been wonderful."
Kate is a huge fan of Wimbledon, and regularly attends matches. Speaking about her first experience at Wimbledon, she said: "The atmosphere here is incredible... it's hugely special and I was very fortunate to get through!" She was only unable to attend Wimbledon when pregnant with Prince George, and wrote Andy Murray a handwritten note to apologise. Chatting in BBC documentary Sue Barker: Our Wimbledon, she said: "I was very heavily pregnant with George so I wasn't able to turn up. I wrote to [Andy Murray] afterwards saying sorry for not being there, but huge congratulations."
Meghan has previously opened up about her friendship with Serena Williams. Writing on her blog, The Tig, about her first meeting with the tennis champion, she explained: "Taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff."
The Duchess of Cambridge cheered while watching Novak Djokovic play Rafael Nadal in a nail-biting semi-final ahead of the Ladies' Singles Final, while Meghan watched the intense game. Kate is very enthusiastic about the competition, and previously opened up about missing Andy Murray win the tournament back in 2013, explaining: "It was amazing. I was very heavily pregnant with George so I wasn’t able to turn up… But even still, I was there saying, 'Maybe I could go, maybe I could', and the doctor said definitely not... It was great seeing all sort of the flags and everything like that and how the public got behind home players. I find it hugely emotional and I’m not even taking part!"
Kate and Meghan were thick as thieves as they chatted during the men's semi-final decider between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who delayed the Ladies' Singles Final by finishing the match that lasted six hours and 35 minutes on Friday. Speaking about his win, Novak said: "I mean, it is hard to pick the words, I am just going through things, flashbacks to the last 14 months and everything I've done to get here, to the final against one of the best players in the world, one of the longest matches of my career. I am overwhelmed."
