Princess Eugenie has shared a series of rare pictures with her mother, Sarah Ferguson, to mark Mother's Day. Alongside the post, the 28-year-old royal heaped praise on her "spectacular" mum, saying: "Wishing every Mother a very Happy Mothering Sunday... and to my beautiful and spectacular mother today and every day... @sarahferguson15." One of the snaps sees Sarah greeting well-wishers outside St. George's Chapel at Eugenie's wedding in October, while another sees Eugenie sitting on her mum's lap during an outdoor hike, taken in recent months.

The post comes as Eugenie's older sister, Princess Beatrice, and her new boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli, Mozzi joined Sarah at the Grand Prix in Bahrain this weekend. It seems it was quite the family affair as Prince Andrew was also in the country for an official visit. Although, Sarah and Prince Andrew are no longer married, the former couple have remained on the very best of terms. During an interview in HELLO! last year, Sarah opened up about her family unit, saying: "A table goes best with four legs. A table can't stand on three legs, really, so you have the Duke and I, and the two girls. We're a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally, and we support each other health wise. At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, the four of us."

Speaking about her role as a mum, she added: "I think the one thing I've done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is that I'm a really good mum. And I think that my girls show that." Both Eugenie and Sarah often share photos of each other as well as of Princess Beatrice and Prince Andrew on Instagram. Earlier this month, the mum-of-two paid tribute to Eugenie by posting a never-before-seen picture of the young royal from her childhood. The newly-wed as a little girl looked adorable with a full fringe and toothy smile, and the sweet photo was posted alongside one of Eugenie at her royal wedding reception. Accompanying the images, Sarah wrote: "Happy birthday my darling girl."
