The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a special video to mark their son Archie's first birthday on Wednesday 6 May. The sweet footage, posted on Save the Children's Instagram page, shows Meghan reading one of her son's favourite books, Duck! Rabbit!, as they relax at home. While Meghan is dressed down in a blue shirt with Archie on her lap, Harry is behind the camera, capturing the family moment.

The Sussexes were taking part in the charity's Save the Stories campaign in the UK and the US, which helps bring much-needed support to children who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the UK, all funds raised will benefit Save the Children UK. The charity has put in place an emergency grants programme to make sure the most vulnerable families can purchase basic items and food.

The couple are believed to be spending the day privately in the US with their son. Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor was born on 6 May 2019 at the Portland Hospital in London. He is seventh in line to the throne and is the Queen's eighth great-grandchild. The royal baby made his adorable debut to the world in the Great Hall at Windsor Castle two days after his birth.

The Duchess sweetly revealed her nickname for her one-year-old, calling the tot "Arch" as she read him the book.

California girl Meghan looked carefree and relaxed in the birthday video, sporting a denim shirt, thought to be J.Crew's £87 'Everyday Chambray Shirt' which is still available to buy online. Perhaps Meghan even wore it because the label recently announced it had filed for bankruptcy during the coronavirus crisis.

The Duchess has two reasons to celebrate this week - Archie's first birthday on Wednesday 6 May and US Mother's Day falls on Sunday 10 May.  Meghan had just given birth to her son days before her first US Mother's Day in 2019 and she posted this cute photo of Archie's toes to mark the special occasion.

Archie was last pictured in December 2019 when Harry and Meghan shared a photo of the tot in his dad's arms in front of a lake during their time in Canada.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh also shared a sweet image with their great-grandchild Archie on the royal family's social media accounts. The photo was taken at Windsor Castle two days after the royal baby's birth at the Portland Hospital in London. The caption read: "Happy Birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who is celebrating his 1st birthday today! Archie is The Queen’s eighth great-grandchild."

Details around Archie's arrival into the world were kept private, but his birth certifcate, a public document, later revealed that he was born at the Portland Hospital in London. The couple had been whisked to London from Windsor on Sunday night by their security team, and had stayed at the hospital overnight until their son was born at 5.26am.
