The Queen was reunited with her daughter and granddaughter-in-law as she attended the G7 summit in Cornwall on Friday evening. Her Majesty, who is celebrating her 95th birthday parade Trooping the Colour this weekend, arrived at the Eden Project with the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge by her side.

The monarch was all smiles for the high-profile event, which sees leaders from around the world and CEOs from the world's largest companies congregate to discuss how the private sector can work with governments to tackle the climate emergency.

The royals were greeted at the G7 Summit by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his new wife Carrie Symonds.

Carrie looked gorgeous in a black floral dress from The Vampire's Wife and carried a small yellow Gucci bag, which matched her yellow heels.

Boris looked statesman like as he wore a smart black suit, with a white shirt and blue tie.

Boris and Carrie married on 29 May in a surprise ceremony at Westminster Cathedral.

The couple then went on to celebrate their nuptials in the garden of their home, No. 11 Downing Street, which is a common trend among royals, choosing to hold their wedding reception at home.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant in a £3,000 Alexander McQueen coat dress and carried her vintage beaded Josef clutch with her.

Prince William's wife had stepped out earlier in the day, teaming up with First Lady of the United States Dr Jill Biden to visit a school in Hayle, Cornwall.

There was much excitement from pupils at Connor Downs Academy as Kate and Jill arrived at their joint engagement, while the Duchess was also asked about Prince Harry and Meghan's baby daughter, Lilibet Diana, who was born on 4 June.

This is the first major event that the Queen has been to since the COVID pandemic began and since the death of her husband Prince Philip on 9 April.

Yesterday marked what would have been the Duke of Edinburgh's 100th birthday, with her Majesty receiving an incredibly touching gift in the form of a newly-bred named after her beloved.

The Duchesses of Cornwall and Cambridge attended the open air reception, but both later left for a reception to celebrate the Big Lunch initiative, which encourages communities to come together in street parties to share food and get to know one another.

The initiative will form part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and was set up by The Eden Project ten years ago.

The three royal ladies aren't often all together at the same event, with the executive director of The Eden Project saying he could only recall one other instance, with that being at Fortnum and Mason.

The Queen prompted laughter from Kate and Camilla when she used a ceremonial sword to cut a cake during the engagement.

When her Majesty was informed by an aide that a more conventional knife was available, she responded: "I know there is, this is more unusual."

The Duchess of Cornwall was heard joking: "That's slicing through."

Making sure to keep everyone at ease, the Queen quipped: "Are you supposed to be looking as if you’re enjoying yourself?" as she prepared for a socially distanced group snap with the world leaders.

The leaders all laughed, with Boris Johnson enthusiastically responding "yes".
