The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge returned to their royal duties on Monday, following their half-term break with their children.

Prince William and Kate met with Scouts at Alexandra Park Sports Hub in Dennistoun, Glasgow to celebrate the organisation's Promise To The Planet campaign.

Dressed casually, the Duke and Duchess took part in activities that demonstrate how Scouting is helping to equip young people with the skills to tackle climate change.

During their visit, the couple learned how to make planet-friendly vegetarian Cop burgers, did a spot of bicycle maintenance to promote sustainable transport, and made wildflower seedbombs that they and the children then threw at a grassy bank to rewild it.

It was all part of the worldwide Promise To The Planet campaign teaching 57 million Scouts to take small but practical steps to be more environmentally friendly.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got involved in the meal preparation.

"If you want to mix it up, I'll start chopping,"William told the children, as he began cutting a red cabbage.

"Have you guys had veggie burger before? Do you like them more then meat burgers? You do?" he added, slightly taken aback.

At the other end of the table, Kate was helping prepare ingredients and wondering about the children's diet.

"Do you get enough veg at school?" she asked. The children seemed to think so.
