The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will no doubt be looking forward to some family time with their children, Lady Louise Windsor and the Earl of Wessex this Easter.

While the royal family's plans for the spring holiday are yet to be confirmed, no doubt Prince Edward and Sophie will be among those to attend the Easter Sunday service.

In the past, Queen Elizabeth II has hosted her family in Windsor for Easter, with the royals turning out in force for the church service at St George's Chapel. Take a look at last year's royal arrivals in the clip below...

Edward and Sophie reside at Bagshot Park in Surrey, just ten miles from Windsor, where many of their family members live, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children.

While King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have celebrated Easter privately at their Scottish residence, Birkhall, in recent years, it's likely that they will uphold the late Queen's tradition of hosting the family in Windsor.

Back in December, the King hosted his first Christmas at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

It's been an exciting start to the year for Edward and Sophie, formerly known as the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

King Charles conferred the Dukedom of Edinburgh on Edward's 59th birthday on 10 March.

The late Prince Philip held the title of Duke of Edinburgh from 1947 until his death in April 2021, when the title reverted to the Crown.

Buckingham Palace previously announced Edward would eventually one day succeed his father as the Duke of Edinburgh – but not until after the death of both Philip and the Queen.

Meanwhile, Edward and Sophie's 15-year-old son, James, Viscount Severn, has taken over his father's former title.
