King Charles and Queen Camilla recently returned from a highly-successful trip to Germany – their very first state visit.
The royal couple proved to be a big hit with the German people and were greeted by huge crowds throughout their four-day stay.
Now, a number of photos and videos from their tour have been shared with fans on their official Instagram page. And royal watchers noticed a touching gesture from the King towards his wife of 17 years. See the sweet video below...
One behind-the-scenes clip shows the couple onboard a train heading to Hamburg for their final day of the visit.
At the start of the video, the King can be seen sitting and looking through paperwork in a ring binder at a single fold-down table.
As the camera pans over across the aisle, Camilla is also reviewing some papers – but at a much larger table. Fans were quick to comment on the fact that the monarch had seemingly given up the bigger space for his wife.
“Chivalry is not dead, it lives in our King!” one impressed follower wrote. “A true gentleman,” echoed a second. “They really are soulmates,” stated a third.
A fourth added: “I love these natural pics & videos we are getting. They give a sense of inclusivity even while being private. Evokes warm feelings towards them. A far cry from a celebrity photo shoot that controls the narrative - phoney or not.”
Charles and Camilla’s visit to Germany made headlines – not least for the fact that the King revealed a secret skill on their first day of their stay.
The royals attended a state banquet given in their honour, with Charles impressing fellow guests as he addressed them in German – much to their delight.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, meanwhile, had a touching gift to present to His Majesty.
He reminded Charles that he had "a close personal relationship with Germany" and presented him with a touching photograph of the King as a boy with his late father, Prince Philip.
Mr Steinmeier said: "At the tender age of 13, you came to Germany – with no official welcome, no press, no photographers. And yet there is a captivating photo, a snapshot of you together with your father, Prince Philip, as you arrive at Frankfurt airport.
"A young journalist, at that stage a mere trainee, took the photo on the tarmac. And it gives me great pleasure to present you with this photo to remember this special moment today, 61 years on, as a sign of your longstanding close bond with our country."
