King Charles III shared a close bond with his late father Prince Philip, and on Sunday, His Majesty preserved his memory by opting to wear an item of his clothing.

Stepping out for a Palm Sunday service in Gloucestershire, Charles donned a smart camel wool overcoat complete with leather buttons and a fitted belt. The service takes place on the last Sunday before Easter and marks the first day of Holy Week.

The timeless item of clothing was previously worn by his "dear papa" on several public visits including an appearance at Badminton Horse Trials.

Underneath his dapper coat, Charles opted to wear a smart suit, a striped tie and a crisp shirt. He finished off his outfit with a pair of trusty suede brogues.

The Duke passed away at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle on 9 April 2021, with his funeral taking place eight days later at St George's Chapel. At the time, Charles paid a touching tribute to his father, highlighting his achievements and "remarkable service."

"As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father enormously. He was a much loved and appreciated figure and apart from anything else, I can imagine, he would be so deeply touched by the number of other people here and elsewhere around the world and the Commonwealth, who also, I think, share our loss and our sorrow."

Although it's been nearly two years since his passing, the late Prince Philip is still very much at the forefront of his eldest son's mind.

In honour of their close bond, Charles will pay tribute to his late father, Prince Philip, during his spectacular coronation on 6 May. The ceremony will feature various new compositions to mark the occasion, with Charles personally requesting the inclusion of Greek Orthodox music, which will be performed by the Byzantine Chant Ensemble.
