Despite the impending date, the couple have not yet publicly revealed whether or not they will be in the congregation at the Abbey.

Harry and Meghan are yet to publicly confirm their attendance

Relations between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royal family remain fraught – not least because of their explosive Netflix series and Harry's decision to release a tell-all memoir at the start of the year.

It would also likely be their last opportunity to stay at their UK home, Frogmore Cottage; King Charles previously asked them to evict the property given their decision to step back as working royals and move permanently to Montecito.

Many believe that Harry will either travel on his own back to Britain, or with Meghan by his side, but an appearance from their children seemingly unlikely.

In the past, Harry has spoken fears for his family back in Britain. He has stated that he wants to bring Archie and Lilibet to visit from their home in the US, but a legal representative has said they are "unable to return to his home" because it is too dangerous.

Earlier this month, Harry did make a surprise appearance in London to attend a court hearing – and it sparked further debate about what that could mean for the coronation.

The couple now live permanently in Montecito

But again, he chose not to travel with wife Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

Notably, the date of the coronation falls on the same day as son Archie's fourth birthday, so that too may have impacted the couple's decision.
