King Charles did not meet with Spain's former King Juan Carlos I, during his recent visit to London.
It comes after reports from Spanish media that the royal distant cousins were set to meet for a private lunch as Juan Carlos is reportedly not expected to attend Charles's coronation at Westminster Abbey on 6 May.
However, HELLO! understands that a lunch did not take place between the King and the former Spanish monarch.
Charles and Camilla have spent some time at their Scottish residence, Balmoral, this week after being spotted at Crathie Kirk church last Sunday.
Meanwhile, Juan Carlos, 85, was spotted in the crowd watching the UEFA Champions League quarter-final between Chelsea FC and Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

The former king, who abdicated in 2014 and now lives in Abu Dhabi, was invited to attend the funeral of the late Queen – whom he was allowed to call Lilibet – last year. Both he and Queen Elizabeth II are great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria.
He was credited with overseeing Spain's transition from dictatorship to democracy in 1975. But he abdicated following a series of scandals involving his family, including a corruption investigation involving his daughter's husband, Inaki Urdangarin, who was later jailed.
Juan Carlos' son and successor, King Felipe, has confirmed his attendance at King Charles's coronation along with Felipe's wife, Queen Letizia.
