Prince William and Princess Kate settle back into routine as George prepares for big coronation role

Prince George has a starring role at King Charles's coronation on 6 May

The Prince and Princess of Wales will return to royal duties on Thursday, after spending the Easter holidays with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

William, 40, and Kate, 41, will visit Birmingham "to celebrate the city's diverse culture and heritage and meet future leaders in the creative industries". The joint outing will see the royal couple host local business owners at an event in The Rectory, in the historic Jewellery Quarter.

The Prince will also attend a service to commemorate Anzac Day in London next Tuesday, marking the start of a very busy few weeks for the royal family.

The countdown is on for King Charles's coronation at Westminster Abbey on 6 May, and Prince George, who has been given a starring role as one of his grandfather's Pages of Honour, is likely to take part in rehearsals. Learn more about the roles of the royal grandchildren in the clip below...

The King has reportedly been practising for his coronation, using staging set up in the ballroom at Buckingham Palace.

Ahead of the coronation, members of the royal family are expected to attend a reception at the palace on Friday 5 May. 

The Dutch royal court confirmed that King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, their eldest daughter, Princess Catharina-Amalia, and former Queen Beatrix will be among the foreign royals on the guest list.

Sunday 7 May will see members of the public throw street parties in aid of the Big Lunch, and in the evening, a star-studded concert will be held at Windsor Castle.

On Bank Holiday Monday, people are being encouraged to volunteer and help out within their local community as part of the Big Help Out campaign.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were last seen publicly with their children at the Easter Sunday church service in Windsor.

There will also be personal celebrations for the Wales family over the coming weeks with Prince Louis' fifth birthday this Sunday.

William and Kate will then mark their 12th wedding anniversary on 29 April, followed by Princess Charlotte's eighth birthday on 2 May.
