King Charles has given his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, an incredible gift just weeks before their joint coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey on 6 May.

The monarch, 74, has granted a new coat of arms to Camilla, 75, as revealed by The College of Arms in its April newsletter.

Seen for the first time, the arms have been updated with the Crown of the Monarch, along with King Charles's updated shield on the left. The right shield shows the Arms of Shand, reflecting Camilla's father Major Bruce Shand's side of the family.

The shield is flanked by the "Royal lion supporter" from Charles's arms on the left, and a boar from Major Shand's arms on the right.

These arms replace those previously granted by Queen Elizabeth II to the then Duchess of Cornwall on 14 July 2005 – Camilla's 58th birthday.

It comes after the Queen Consort's son, Tom Parker Bowles, spoke about his mother's second marriage to Charles, telling The News Agents podcast: "I think change happens but I don’t care what anyone says – this wasn't any sort of end game.

"She married the person she loved and this is what happened."

Mr Parker Bowles was also asked if it is weird to think of his mother as "the Queen," see what he had to say in the clip below…

The food writer and critic also praised his mother and stepfather, saying: "I think they’re doing amazingly. I think King Charles is a good, kind, intelligent man who cares deeply about his roles wherever they may be, Prince of Wales, the King."
