The Prince of Wales spoke of one of his "greatest regrets" as he and the Princess of Wales carried out engagements in Birmingham on Thursday.
William, 40, and Kate, 41, hosted future leaders and local business owners at The Rectory pub in the city's Jewellery Quarter.
The prince spoke to a young woman who teaches at a dance centre and after hearing how it offers ballet and modern dance, he told her: "I still wish I'd learned to breakdance. It's one of my greatest regrets, not learning to breakdance when I was young."
The Prince and Princess have been given opportunities to show off their dance moves over the years, including during their tour of the Caribbean last year.

William also spoke with Kelvin Osondu, 30, who wrote his first fantasy book at the age of 16.
The Prince, who obtained an A in Geography, a B in Art and a C in Biology at A Level, said: "Kelvin, I need to bottle some of your discipline. There was a moment when I really should have done more work when I was younger – read more books, watched less TV. I'm watching The Recruit on Netflix at the moment."
Earlier in the day, William and Kate helped in the kitchen at the family-run Indian Streatery in Birmingham city centre.
The Prince had his wife and Kate in giggles as he took a reservation from a customer over the phone. See that moment here…
William was also asked if his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were as enthusiastic about Aston Villa football club as he was.
The Prince replied: "George is generally very happy with Villa, Louis will hopefully choose his own team and Charlotte's just getting into football, so we'll see."
Nine-year-old George was pictured attending a Villa match with his father earlier this month.
