King Charles joined by family as he hosts first garden party of the year – all the photos
King Charles might only recently be back from the United States, but the monarch is already hosting the first garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace
The royal quartet was seen standing at the top of the stairs, before descending into the gardens where they interacted with the assembled guests.
The party at Buckingham Palace paid tribute to frontline workers across the United Kingdom, whether through volunteer work, working for the emergency services or supporting charitable causes.
King Charles led his family at the garden party. The monarch was seen in a sharp suit, while Camilla wore a pastel-blue dress, Anne styled out a tan dress, and Edward looked dapper in a suit.
One of the people who Charles struck up conversation with was Barbara Keel, the founder of the Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary. The charity, which is based in East Sussex, provides a sanctuary for any rejected animal.
While meeting a representative from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the King was gifted with a carving of a swift that had been made by a member of the Brownie group.
Another higlight for Charles during the party was his interaction with two of the winners of the King's Award. The pair he chatted to had won the King's Award for voluntary services.
Royal protocol went out the window when Charles met Vegas, a dog trained by the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity. Vegas was very excited to meet the King, jumping up at the monarch.
