Prince George of Cambridge takes centre stage in three brand new official photos released by the British royal family ahead of Christmas. The adorable 17-month-old, who was last officially photographed taking some of his first steps around the time of his first birthday in July, now stars in a set of pictures looking every inch the dapper toddler.
The photos of George were taken by a member of the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton and Prince William's household staff in the courtyard of Kensington Palace – the royal trio's London residence.

The pictures, which were captured at the end of November, are the first set to feature George all by himself.
One of the three photos sees the little rosy-cheeked Prince of Cambridge looking up from his seat on the white step in the Palace courtyard.
Another image, which stars on the front cover of this week's HELLO! magazine, shows a smiling George bearing a striking resemblance to his father William.

For his photoshoot, William and Kate's son sported a black, white and navy outfit. The third-in-line to the throne is seen wearing black buckled shoes, black shorts, high socks and a navy V-necked Cath Kidston jumper over a white top by Polarn O. Pyret.
George's woollen tank top features several images of uniformed, busby-clad soldiers.

Royal fans, who were disappointed that George could not accompany his parents on their recent trip to the USA, will be thrilled to see the new photos of the happy youngster ahead of his second Christmas.
George, who was only five-months-old in December 2013, will no doubt love the festive celebrations – which are his last before becoming a older brother when Kate gives birth in April.
