King Charles III became monarch of the United Kingdom in September 2022 upon the death of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II. Previously known as the Prince of Wales, Charles has been married to Queen Camilla since 2005. He was previously wed to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, the mother of his two sons Prince William and Prince Harry.
Charles' public duties are often focused on his main passions, which include environmental issues, rural communities, the arts, healthcare, and education.
His coronation took place in May 2023. Charles lives at Clarence House in London, but also carries out official engagements at Buckingham Palace.
In February 2024, the King underwent a procedure to treat his enlarged prostate. During the operation, a form of cancer was found. He is currently receiving treatment for his condition.
