Penelope and Matthew shoot in Spain

Sultry Spanish star Penelope Cruz returned to her scenic homeland this week to continue filming the action flick Sahara alongside co-star Matthew McConaughey.

The photogenic on-screen couple, who denied rumours of romance recently while shooting in Morocco, turned up the on-set heat once again at their new location near the sunny coastal city of Tarragona in northeastern Spain.

Although the Catalonian town is known for its Roman architecture, Penelope and Matthew's needs took them away from the ancient buildings in favour of the sand in order to film key scenes for their upcoming adventure. And casual costuming was the name of the day – Pen sported cargo trousers and a denim shirt for the shoot, while her American leading man was rugged in shorts and a woolly hat.

But it wasn't all work and no play for the Hollywood actors, who spent their down time in a nearby luxury beach hotel. Both were spotted – separately – taking in a bit of sun on their respective room terraces, with handsome Matthew getting a nearly all-over tan as he relaxed in nothing more than his boxers.
