She's already been spotted sampling the nightlife on Ibiza and enjoyed a getaway to Dubai this summer, yet Charlotte Church shows no sign of easing up on her luxurious – and pricey – holidays. For her latest break the Voice Of An Angel swept beau Kyle Johnson off to the Maldives, a string of tropical islands in the Indian Ocean.

The couple stayed in a romantic ₤750-a-night villa built on stilts above the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Obviously fans of beachside locations, the pair had also opted for a suite overlooking the Arabian Sea during their four-day jaunt to Dubai.

Charlotte, who took control of her fortune upon turning 18 in February 2004, has splashed out more than ₤100,000 on holiday partying this summer. In addition to her October vacations with Kyle, the singer also treated her girlfriends to a ₤2,759-a-week stay in an Ibizan villa in July.

And Charlotte enjoyed an equally jetsetting 2003, making time for holiday breaks on Hawaii and the Caribbean.

If the images of the singer and her boyfriend strolling hand in hand along the beach and frolicking together in the water during this latest trip are anything to go by, the pair's relationship is going from strength to strength. And according to friends the dream holiday may have served as an opportunity for Charlotte to test the waters regarding her future with the trainee hotel manager.

"If the holiday went well Charlotte will know if he's 'the one'," said a chum. "She's very thrifty and wouldn't spend so much on someone she wasn't serious about."
