Landfall
If you’re looking for a place with masses of Caribbean charm, then consider renting the home-from-home of tennis and health-club guru David Lloyd. Built from local white coral stone and hidden behind hibiscus-clad walls, the six-bedroom house will enchant you from the moment you step over the threshold. Immediately inside, a fountain bubbles in the courtyard and the gallery cascades with flowers. Cool linen loungers surround the pool, which overlooks the sea, and there’s a sunken, coral-walled open living room if you’re looking for more space in which to unwind. And anyone who yearns to feel sand between their toes can walk just 20 paces from Landfall’s gate to the Sandy Lane Beach. The Blair family are obviously fans. They used Landfall as their headquarters for the day and the visitor’s book bears witness to their praise.
Royal Westmoreland
Golf champion Ian Woosnam and former Wimbledon legend Virginia Wade own villas on this estate – so if you want to swing among the stars, this is the place. Scattered around the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones championship golf course are villas available to rent in all shapes and sizes, from two bedrooms to seven. All are pristine and beautifully maintained by your dedicated housekeeper. There’s a restaurant and bar on site, as well as tennis and a health and fitness centre. But if you’re a non-golfing partner make sure you book a villa with a pool.
