Fathers are there for us from the very beginning. From taking us to our very first football practice, or sitting with us through our first dance recital, they are there to protect and encourage us. With Father's Day approaching this Sunday, say that special "Thank You" and show how much you really appreciate everything he does by splashing out on an experience that the two of you can enjoy. From spending the day tasting cheese and wine, to a father's day lunch at the stunning Kensington Rooftop Gardens, you can really show your dad just how much you care this year. HELLO! Online has put together a list of perfect days out for this year's Father's Day.

fathers day

For the foodie father, we have selected some luxurious dining experiences. Located high up on the seventh floor, the Kensington Roof Gardens have amazing views over London's skyline, with the London Eye and the Albert Hall not far. Inside, the garden features the award-winning restaurant Babylon. With mouth-watering mains, your father will be spoilt for choice with a menu featuring a citrus risotto, roasted fillet of Halibut and a traditional British roast. To celebrate the garden's 75th anniversary your dad will also be able to enjoy a garden-themed cocktail after the incredible lunch. For an extra treat, the gardens are showing the film "Brief Encounter" at the pop-up cinema. For the thrill seeker dad we have chosen the London Helicopter, the UK's only online scheduled helicopter sightseeing service.

The London Helicopter

The London Helicopter lifts off from both The London Heliport in Battersea and Redhill Aerodrome, near Gatwick. Prices start from £129 per seat from Redhill but you choose to "Go Exclusive" and enjoy private use of the helicopter for whoever you choose to take with you – costs vary depending on the maximum number of seats in each helicopter. For a different view of the city, whisk your dad away to an afternoon of "Gentleman's Tea" at the Stadium View Bar at the Holiday Inn London in Stratford, which boasts unrivalled views of the Olympic Park and City. This masculine take on afternoon tea includes mini beef, fisher sandwiches and sausage rolls, although if your dad does fancy a jam-filled scone, these are available as well. While there, your dad will be able to take advantage of the super views of the Queen Elizabeth Park's Olympic landscapes including the UK's tallest sculpture. If your father loves his cheese and wine, the master class hosted at the award-winning Seven Park Place within the luxurious surroundings of St.James's Hotel & Club in Mayfair is the perfect choice. Guests will be treated to a sparkling glass of champagne on arrival, before making their way into the cheese and wine master class. The foodie experience will include a three-course cheese-based lunch with matching wine. To top that, guests will also leave with a goodie bag. For the action junkie father, a day of indoor sky diving with Airkik is just the ticket. The experience will be an unforgettable one as your dad will get the chance to fly inside an exhilarating tunnel, as he is guided by an experienced instructor. An equally select gift, London Photography is holding a workshop for budding photographers. Your dad will be able to enjoy a walking tour around the magnificent capital and learn how to get the best out of whatever camera he has, even his iPhone. If you want to venture out of the capital though, escape to the beautiful Channel Islands with Condor Ferries. With its close location but warm weather it is the perfect getaway. Described as an island where British and French cultures meet, your dad will be able to experience a day of stunning scenery and the unique rich heritage.
