BINTM 2013: the luxury Barbados resorts enjoyed by the judges and final six models

August 29, 2013

This year's Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model final six models were whisked off to the Caribbean island of Barbados to enjoy the sun, sea and sand while they battle it out to be the winner of cycle nine.Emma, Sophie, Naomi, Angel, Lauren and Sarah flew from London to Barbados for the final four episodes of this year's series of the hit model talent show. We take a look at the luxury resorts that were temporary home to the models and the judges during their time on the island.

BINTM judges Dannii Minogue, Elle Macpherson and Tyson Beckford stayed at the wonderful Colony Club Hotel, one of the island's most exclusive resorts. The former Colonial Club boasts 96 luxury rooms and suites, each with its own patio or balcony, four lagoon-style freshwater swimming pools, a fully-equipped beauty salon and lush gardens.

Meanwhile, the models stayed at The House, a chic, tranquil retreat located behind impressive white stone walls and giant palm trees. On arrival they were treated to a carnivalesque reception with dancers and fire-eaters, performers traditionally seen during the celebrations of Barbados's yearly Crop Over festival. With its graciously decorated interior, spacious accommodation and vast deck stretching to the beach, The House was where the girls unwound and enjoyed downtime between the grueling challenges and photoshoots of the show.

The impressive beachfront deck of The HouseTurtle Beach was the location of the models' surfing challenge, where resident water sports master Captain Sam guided the six girls on the surf boards to deliver a piece to camera for the Barbados Tourism Authority promotional video. Sophie came up trumps on the waves and bagged herself the prize of a spa treatment for two at the Tamarind resort, which she chose to share with Naomi.

Each week the models and judges met for eliminations on the gorgeous golden sands of the beach in front of the Crystal Cove resort, a premium all-inclusive resort on Barbados's famous Platinum Coast. The beautiful surroundings of their Caribbean destination only makes eliminations that bit harder for the girls that got sent home.

With BINTM 2013 cycle nine approaching the final, we are sure that there is more drama, laughs and fierce photoshoots to come as the competition heats up under the glorious Bajan sun for the final four models.
