Hidden in the beautiful Tastavins river valley bordered by the Puertos of Beceite mountain range in an unspoilt corner of Aragon just an hour from the hustle and bustle of Spain's Mediterranean coast, lies a world of peace and tranquility in La Torre del Visco.This beautiful boutique hotel in the north-east of Spain offers a rural retreat with a difference. Three nights and four days will give you plenty of time for a full introduction to the Mediterranean world of olive oil culture, complete with guided walks around the extensive organic farm and the chance to get up close to the sculptural beauty of century-old olive trees as well as recent, younger plantations.You'll experience practical demonstrations of harvesting methods followed by a wonderful al fresco lunch in the olive groves with freshly baked bread, grilled local meats, delicious sheep and goat's cheeses accompanied, of course, by local wine and the farm's own olives.

A true foodie experience, holidayers participate in an olive oil tasting session led by an expert producer and take part in two half-day cookery sessions in the homely open kitchen with the hotel's renowned chefs, preparing delicious recipes based on olive oil and other outstanding local ingredients that form the heart of the naturally healthy and authentic Mediterranean diet. Not that you'd want to leave this restored XVth estate house, a stay here comes with a visit to an organic oil press and a nearby olive oil museum where the machinery from the 18th century to the present day is preserved in working order.

After the day's activities, guests are welcome to sit by one of the many open fires with a glass of fine wine from the hotel's 15th century wine cellar or gather in the kitchen to watch dinner being prepared by the in-house chefs.
