George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin honeymoon in same Seychelles resort chosen by William and Kate

October 6, 2014

Just when fans thought George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's four-day Venice wedding couldn't get any better, Hollywood's hot newlyweds have topped it off by jetting off to honeymoon in the uber exclusive resort of North Island in the Seychelles.

According to reports, George and Amal chose the paradisiacal resort based on a recommendation from a good friend – Brad Pitt. He and Angelina Jolie have holidayed there previously. Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, also opted for the private island resort for their honeymoon in 2011.

"George and Amal were looking for the ultimate, private getaway and I believe it was Brad who told him to go to this resort," a source told X17online. "It's one of the most beautiful places on earth and George wanted to show Amal something even more amazing than Venice." The North Island resort offers just 11 jaw-droppingly gorgeous private villas—each one more than 5,000 square feet and with its own plunge pool, and ensures absolute privacy as it’s only accessible by helicopter.

Reports suggest that George has rented a luxury villa in the resort, which comes with a price tag of more than $5,000 per person, per night. In fact, earlier this year the resort was dubbed as the most expensive hotel in the world, thanks to a survey conducted by Travelmag.com. Another private island resort in the Seychelles, Fregate, followed close behind in second place at $5,246 per night.

No doubt George and Amal are unwinding as Mr and Mrs Clooney on the shores of North Island, which contains some of the most beautiful beaches and luxury villas in the world, making the most of the sparkling azure ocean views, white sand, palm trees, as well as the motto of the resort: "heaven on earth is handmade". The eco-conscious lodge will be a wonderful haven for the handsome duo after the whirlwind flurry of their world-watched nuptials – they may even hire an entire beach to have to themselves, should they so wish.
