Kate Moss reveals her low-maintenance holiday wardrobe and her favourite holiday ever

May 28, 2015

Kate Moss' favourite holiday was a family safari she went on with her now 12-year-old daughter, Lila Grace, and her husband Jamie Hince, which saw the trio see "wild elephants by the pool", she has told InStyle magazine in an interview. "It was so incredible we were all crying when we left," she remembered of the trip, which is likely to have taken place in South Africa in 2009, when Lila was nine. The world-famous supermodel revealed that when it comes to holidays, she likes to make the most of being away by soaking up the local atmosphere and enjoying adventures. "Lots of people go on holiday and don't even leave their hotel," she said. "I think you should experience the place you're in. Make sure you have some cash on you, get out of the hotel and go to the nearest village."

About flying, the 41-year-old said: "I find it really relaxing – no phone, a movie, a glass of wine and some salad. Perfect!
I always take a cashmere blanket with me and make sure I have family pictures in my passport holder. "Despite her catwalk beauty and glamour, Kate, who holidays with family as well as A-lister friends in the likes of Caribbean island St Barts and Mediterranean haven St Tropez, keeps her holiday preparation to a minimum. "I always like a bit of dark red paint on my nails. If I'm not doing them myself I go to a nice little salon in Primrose Hill – it's totally no-nonsense," she said. "I hate all that pampering business, I prefer hanging out with Lila to sitting through a long manicure!"

When it comes to her holiday must-haves, she says: "If I only had five minutes to pack, I’d throw in black jeans, grey jeans, some T-shirts,
a jacket and flats – or a bikini if we’re going
somewhere hot. I have a travel bag ready to go,
with all my beauty essentials and passport. "The blonde beauty added that if the travel nightmare of lost luggage were to happen to her, she would remedy the predicament easily: "If the plane lost all my luggage and I was somewhere sunny like Ibiza
I would just get a bikini, shorts, T-shirt and sandals.
If it was somewhere colder like New York I'd go for jeans, jacket and a pair of Louboutins."
