It's the most popular tourist attraction in the UK and one of the most iconic features on the London skyline, but no one has ever spent the night in one of the Coca-Cola London Eye's pods – until now. One lucky couple will soon get the chance to be the first people to sleepover at the London Eye when one of its pods is converted into a pop-up hotel room for one night only.

STORY: The top travel experiences to try in 2017

The exciting opportunity is all thanks to TripAdvisor Rentals' Eye Spy a Home in the Sky competition, which is offering two people the opportunity to sleep in one of the London Eye pods that will be transformed into an incredible hotel room by homeware brand Wayfair.

One of the London Eye capsules will be transformed into a hotel room for one night only

The capsule won't be decorated until 30 March for the winners' stay that night, but an image released by TripAdvisor shows that it will be completely transformed with wooden furniture, cosy bedding and lots of plants and greenery to add a homely feel (along with a little privacy for the winners who are staying in the glass capsule).

The lucky winners will be able to access their room from 5.30pm onwards. Then, when the Eye closes to the public, their incredible glass-covered bedroom will rotate to the very top of the attraction, at a height of 443ft (135m). Staff will be on hand to cater to the couple and serve a champagne dinner for them to enjoy while taking in breath-taking views across London.

The winners will enjoy stunning views across London

That's not all though; as for three nights, the winners will also be provided with a complimentary stay at a three-bedroom home in London that is available through TripAdvisor rentals, so they get even more opportunity to explore the city sights.

The competition is open until 19 March, with adult residents from the UK, the US, Canada, France, Germany and Spain eligible to enter. Flights will be provided for anyone travelling to London from abroad.
