Jeff Bridges is selling his impressive Santa Barbara mansion that he shares with his wife, Susan Geston. The Academy Award winning actor has put the stunning property, Villa Santa Lucia, up for £14,816,650, Sotheby’s has revealed.
The 9,535-square-foot home was designed by notable Santa Barbara architect Barry Berkus back in 1988, largely replicating Tuscan elegance from the exterior. Surrounded by olive trees, large French doors open onto a terrace overlooking the sea, while stone fireplaces act as a centrepiece in many of the spacious rooms. Impressive features include a large family room with stone brick walls and a high ceiling influenced by the interior of a Tuscan chapel. The kitchen boasts a breakfast area opening onto shaded outdoor dining terrace, along with a large island for preparing meals, while the basement includes a spacious wine cellar and several storage rooms. An elegant master bedroom offers a Romeo and Juliet balcony overlooking the 19.5 acres of land, a walk in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. As well as an additional four bedrooms, there is a study room offering panoramic views across the Pacific, a family room and recording studio.
Outside, the grounds feature a swimming pool complete with a kitchen and changing rooms, outdoor fireplace, fruit orchards and a 770 sq. ft. guest cottage, with its own living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, fireplace and bathroom. Jeff and Susan purchased the property back in 1994, where they raised their three daughters, Isabelle, Jessica and Hayley.
