Here at HELLO! towers we can't wait for Easter weekend to come round. We were so excited that we decided to try out Foundation Bar in Covent Garden – a pre-warmer for the bank holiday weekend. With its extensive cocktail list, non-stop music and mouth-watering menu, Foundation ticked all our boxes. We'll definitely be going back to kick start our four-day break this Thursday!

The central London venue is big on cocktails. You can order the classics, the classics re-spun and larger sharers served in teapots. Other tipples are presented in jam jars, milk bottles, coloured tins, and one even comes in a cup personalised with your name on it. We were particular fans of the Jaffa Cake and the Dib Dab – the old school confectionary whisked us down memory lane – and the Downton Abbey, which came with cheese and crackers on the side.
In celebration of the upcoming bank holiday, Foundation is also offering a special Easter cocktail menu. Are you a fan of Mini Eggs (who isn't)? Then try the Absolut Mini-Egg Martini – an indulgent creation finished with double cream, chocolate sauce and the one and only, mini-eggs crushed on top. We're also giving the thumbs-up to Spring Spritz, a fresh gin-based cocktail that is perfect for springtime sipping.
Looking at the food menu, we knew Foundation had the ideal bar/restaurant balance. While filling up on cocktails, we also ploughed our way through burgers, pizzas, nachos and ribs – definite crowd pleasers for the hungry after-work lot! The vegetarians among us were more than satisfied with the mac and cheese, veggie pizza and falafel burger options.
It may seem a little unruly to try and have a casual sit-down meal while music blares through the speakers, but the club classics and house tunes at Foundation will you have swaying in no time. The lively atmosphere is reflected in the bar's interior design. Neon lighting, statement signs, patterned walls and cow hide booths all complete its vibrant look. Foundation calls itself an "underground playground" – and we can totally see why. Bring on the bank holiday!
