Wimbledon has long been a highlight of the British sporting calendar and 2017 is sure to be no exception, with Andy Murray hoping to retain his title for the second year in a row. However it's not just the action on court that gets people talking, but the wide array of famous faces in the crowd too.
Look in the Royal Box at Centre Court on any given day and you're guaranteed to see anyone from British royalty to Hollywood royalty, with the Duchess of Cambridge, Bradley Cooper and the Beckhams among the regular Wimbledon attendees. This year marks the first time that Kate will be attending in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, while it's likely that her younger sister Pippa Middleton will also come along with her husband James Matthews. So ahead of the 2017 Championships, take a look back at some of the most memorable star-studded moments from Wimbledon…
Beyoncé and Jay Z were spotted in the crowd at the Wimbledon finals in 2016, where they cheered Serena Williams on to secure her 22nd Grand Slam title against Angelique Kerber. Unfortunately it's unlikely we'll see the power couple at the 2017 tournament as they're busy settling into life with their newborn twins and daughter Blue Ivy.
An avid tennis fan, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared thrilled by the result at the Wimbledon men's singles final in 2016, when Andy Murray won the tournament for the second time. However she and husband Prince William weren't quite as excited as London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who rose to his feet to applaud Andy's victory.
Despite acting as patron of patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club until 2016, the Queen hasn't actually attended Wimbledon on that many occasions. In 2010 Her Majesty made her first appearance in the royal box for 33 years, where she watched Andy Murray beat Finland's Jarkko Nieminen.
There was a Hollywood bromance in the Wimbledon crowd when Bradley Cooper sat at Centre Court with then-girlfriend Suki Waterhouse and Gerard Butler in 2013. The pair, both dressed in co-ordinating smart ensembles, appeared thrilled with the result at the men's singles final, and we're even spotted snapping selfies together in the crowd.
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall returned to Centre Court in 2012, some 42 years since his last appearance in 1970. Before taking their seats in the royal box, the couple met former British number one Tim Henman and Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick.
David Beckham and his sons are regular fixtures in the Wimbledon crowd, and it may well be that the Beckhams middle son Romeo makes it onto the court one day. The teenager is a talented tennis player, and even picked up some skills from Andy Murray during a training session at Queens in June 2016.
Diana Ross sat in the royal box at Wimbledon in 2011, where she cheered on Serena Williams to victory. She was joined by her son Ross Naess and surrounded by ten members of the England cricket team and their partners, showing just how diverse the Wimbledon audience is.
It's safe to say Bradley Cooper is a huge Wimbledon fan! The Hollywood actor was joined in the crowd by girlfriend Irina Shayk in 2016, with the pair seen cuddling up in the royal box. The couple welcomed their first child together in March, so we'll be interested to see if they return to the Championships in the next two weeks.
Another celebrity couple to look loved-up in the Wimbledon crowd were Jude Law and his girlfriend Philippa Coan in 2016. The pair were sat in the royal box with guests including Prince Andrew and Sir Alex Ferguson but only had eyes for each other, with Philippa resting her head on Jude's shoulder while they watched the game.
Prince Charles mingled with Bruce Forsyth and his wife Wilnelia in the royal box at Wimbledon in 2012. The trio appeared in high spirits during the game, which marked Charles' first appearance at the British tennis tournament since 1970.
Zara and Mike Tindall were in a playful mood when they sat in the Wimbledon crowd in July 2016, with the former England rugby player appearing to nuzzle his wife's shoulder. The couple are regular visitors to the Championships, so we'll be looking out for them in the royal box when the tournament resumes on Monday.
