If you're looking for a new way to see London this summer, we've found the perfect thing – but it's not for the fainthearted! A new zip wire claiming to be the biggest and fastest in the world is coming to London's Southbank for 12 weeks over the summer, and it looks incredible.

Zip World London is set to launch on Friday 7 July as a spinoff to the hugely popular Zip World adventure sites in North Wales, which have attracted visitors from around the world since they opened to the public in 2013. And London's pop up looks set to be no exception, thanks to its incredible central location that will offer enviable views across some of the capital's most iconic landmarks, such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

People with a fear of heights may want to give this one a miss; the zip wire takes off from a 35-metre (100ft) high tower – the equivalent to more than nine double decker buses! It will take just 30 seconds to complete the 225-metre descent over Archbishop's Park, near Lambeth Palace, with a ride taking place every two minutes.

Barry Shaverin, founder of Zip World London, has promised that the attraction will be "exciting but not terrifying", adding: "I see it as a decent halfway house between a rollercoaster and a bungee jump. Giant zip lines and the greatest cityscape in the world – it seemed such an obvious idea to put the two together. And Archbishop's Park is one of London's best-kept secrets. We really want to help it get the attention it deserves."
