Whether you are planning a city break for a few nights escapism or enjoy a fun girls' weekend away, a staycation at Malmaison Belfast is definitely one of the places to consider. Located close to the city's major attractions and perched on the edge of Cathedral Quarter, you can dine at some of the finest restaurants and peruse the rails of designer stores at Victoria Square shopping centre - all within walking distance. But if you are looking for something a bit more cultured, the Titanic museum is only a short taxi ride away. As it was my first trip to the Northern Ireland city, I made sure I went on one of the famous black cab tours - nearly every building was covered in beautiful murals, and I even encountered several artists hard at work.

The boutique hotel itself is one of the most stylish hotels in the city, a former 19th century seed warehouse. The lobby and hallways were decorated with lots of dark colours, while the brassiere looked like a chic beach house. But for me, the service was brilliant; the staff were genuine and were able to assist with recommendations and travel arrangements - I felt very welcomed! Malmaison Belfast certainly offers a beautiful space, with a relaxed ambiance by day and a fabulous atmosphere by night.

Where to visit:

Explore the Cathedral Quarter, you can see Belfast Cathedral, also known as St Anne’s Cathedral. It is the oldest part of the city, Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter has experienced a renaissance over the past two decades with many pubs, clubs and hotels now trading in the area. A trip to Titanic Quarter is a must. Constructed at the cost of £97million and opened in 2012, Titanic Belfast relates the story of the famous ocean liner. The iconic building (shaped like the bows of a ship) comprises of 9 galleries over 4 floors. This is where you can learn about the lives of the workers who built the ship and the lives of the passengers and crew who made the fateful voyage. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, then you must venture towards the northern tip of Northern Ireland. There are many locations which stand proudly for many exterior shots throughout the series including Winterfell, The Wall, House of Greyjoy and the Dark Hedges.
