Dubai's incredible architecture has plunged to new depths with the launch of luxurious underwater villas. The Floating Seahorse Signature Edition villas are being built some 2.5 miles off the coast and promise panoramic views back to shore, with one level of each home entirely suspended under water.
The first villas were unveiled last year and quickly sold out, but these new signature edition mansions are more spacious and designed for families, with three levels and four bedrooms that can be fully personalised to suit the owners, with a starting price of £2million.

For that price you can expect your villa to be fitted with state-of-the-art technology and climate-controlled areas, not to mention your own private Jacuzzi. But it is the underwater level that is sure to entice the majority of buyers; the rooms feature glass walls for amazing views that will make you feel like you're at an aquarium.

Who needs a TV when you can look out under the sea?
The new villas span 4,000 square feet – four times the size of an average UK home - and are the biggest in the development. There will be 40 built in total, which are each designed to sleep up to eight adults and eight children. They will be located off the Heart of Europe, a unique development which features six man-made connected islands two and a half miles off the coast of Dubai.

The island destination is designed to "capture the essence of European living", with each island named after a different European country. And while residents of Dubai are used to the UAE's year-round high temperatures, they will be able to get a feel for the European weather too, thanks to climate-controlled streets that will bring rain and snow to the islands in the summer to reduce the temperature from 50⁰C to 27⁰C.

The only downside? The islands are only accessible by boat, seaplane and helicopter, so you can't go anywhere in a hurry!
