Planning a trip to the United States? Pencil 9am on 22 March in your diary as Primera Air is launching bargain flights to popular destinations including New York, Boston and Washington DC for under £100 – but you'll have to get in quick! The Nordic airline has only 99 available £99 one-way fares to each of the US cities, along with Meghan Markle's former hometown of Toronto. However, they're expected to sell out within minutes of going on sale next week.
The seats will be from the budget airline's cheapest package, and will include only your seat and 10kg baggage allowance, so you can expect to pay more if you want to increase your baggage allowance or add any extras. But it'll be well worth it to fly to the States for less than the price of the standard peak rail fare between London and Manchester.
Primera Air is launching £99 flights to the US and Canada
The sale marks Primera Air's debut in the UK, with routes operating from London Stansted airport to four cities in the US and Canada. The £99 fares are set to be sold on a first come first served basis, and are valid for travel between 19 April and 9 December 2018. But even if you miss out, you won't have to break the bank to travel with the airline, as fares for transatlantic flights typically start from £149 one way.
STORY: You can now fly from London to New York for just £99!
A statement from the airline reads: "Taking the strain of searching tirelessly for affordable international travel options, Primera Air's mission is to make expensive long-haul travel history." Meanwhile, Primera Air CEO Hrafn Thorgeirsson told the Telegraph: "At Heathrow there are no slots available and Gatwick is really saturated and very difficult to get any proper slots. Nobody is serving Stansted right now for our market." Sound good? Head to primeraair.co.uk/99 to snap up your tickets from 9am on Thursday 22 March.
