If you're hooked on American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, you'll no doubt be familiar with The Villa Casa Casuarina, the lavish home that Gianni Versace lived in until his death in 1997. The beautiful beachfront property in Miami features in many scenes from the drama series, and has now been transformed into a luxury hotel, where visitors can currently book a stay from £219 per night on Secret Escapes.

Gianni Versace purchased the incredible three-storey building in 1992, and spent an estimated $33million (around £23.4million) on renovating the building. Although his family sold the residence following his death, many of Gianni's original design details have been left untouched, with guests able to swim in a pool lined with 24-carat gold tiles, eat in a restaurant that is located in the Versace designer's former dining room and relax in a rooftop lounge that offers beautiful views across the Miami coastline.

Additional facilities include a spa, complete with an aroma steam room and meditation lounge, and beds that are so large they require their own custom-made sheets. The 90-year-old Mediterranean Revival mansion has a number of suites which are all individually themed and named, with opulent design details and ornate furnishings that are characteristic of Versace's lavish tastes.
