An eclectic array of celebrities including Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Isla Fisher and U2 frontman Bono have all been on holiday together in the south of France. The unlikely friends have been sharing photos from their getaway at Chateau La Coste on social media, much to the surprise of their fans.

Joining the group are Isla's husband Sacha Baron Cohen and Matthew's wife, Camila Alves, as well as Woody Harrelson and Madonna's manager Guy Oseary, who shared a photo of them all together on Instagram. "It's a family affair... Au revoir south of France... until next year," he captioned the photo, which was soon reposted by Isla, who wrote: "Missing my French family already."

Guy also posted a photo with comedian Chris Rock earlier in the week, writing simply: "Vacation time." Chris, meanwhile, shared his own snap alongside Bono, Woody, Matthew and their friends, writing: "Hot fun in the summertime."

All of the photos attracted a number of comments about the star-studded group. "What a squad!" one commented, while another agreed: "A+ squad". A third commented: "Who would have ever put these people in the same place at the same time? Too funny!" Another wrote: "This is the most random group of friends, it's awesome!"

It is thought that talent manager Guy is the one responsible for bringing the group together; as well as managing Madonna, he has also managed U2, which explains his friendship with Bono. Meanwhile, Chris, Matthew and Camila were among the celebrity guests who attended Guy's wedding vow renewal with wife Michelle in Rio in 2017.

The group's holiday destination of choice was an estate in the middle of a biodynamic vineyard, around 25 minutes away from Provence. There are thirty major art installations throughout the residence, as well as a villa comprised of 28 villa suites where the group could stay. Rooms start from €1,200 a night for a Pavillon Suite, rising to around €1,800 a night for a Villa Suite with its own private swimming pool.
