One of the UK's best-known winemakers, Chapel Down produces some of the most amazing sparkling and still wines. Take a tour of the vineyards and state-of-the-art winery, before tumbling into bed at Sissinghurst Farmhouse, a charming rustic B&B.

Famed for their Sussex Sparkling wine, this small vineyard is a real gem. Stay at the gorgeous, on-site Flint Barns for a romantic and rustic autumn getaway. Holmfirth Vineyard, West Yorkshire

Bolney Wine Estate, Sussex

Kingscote Vineyards, East Sussex

One of the most established winery experiences in the UK, this Kingscote Vineyards minibreak is perfect for visitors looking for an action-packed weekend, with walking and fishing available on site. The nearby Gravetye Manor is the perfect escape.

Oxney Organic, East Sussex 

Oxney is the largest single-estate producer of English organic wine. Their 35 acres of vines account for around 20 per cent of all organic grapes grown in the UK. Stay in the stunning Jacobean house in the vineyard itself or in their cosy shepherd's huts, or in nearby Stone Cum Ebony at The Oxney Barns.

Secret Valley Vineyard Glamping, Somerset 

Fancy a bit of glamping? Secret Valley Vineyard is the ultimate destination for wine-lovers looking for a relaxing mini break at the foot of the Quantock Hills in Somerset. Virgin Experiences is doing a cracking deal for a two-night stay for £135. Vineyard tours and tastings are also available.

Gusbourne Vineyard, Kent

The Nest at Gusbourne Estate is now open to visitors for vineyard tours, luxury picnic experiences and wine tastings. Just a 40-minute train ride from London St Pancras, the vineyard provides a picture perfect day out in the rolling hills of Kent. Gusborne, famed for producing award-winning sparkling wines, is the only three-time winner of the IWSC English Wine Producer of the Year - so you know you're in for a treat.

Carr Taylor, Hastings 

Carr Taylor has been producing award-winning English wines since 1971. Their sparkling and still wines are hand-picked, produced and bottled at their family vineyard in an area of outstanding natural beauty. 

Ridgeview, East Sussex

Situated in the beautiful South Downs, Ridgeview has been producing world-class sparkling wine for 25 years. They were one of the first English vineyards to focus solely on the production of sparkling wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grape varieties Tours last 1.5 hours and promise killer views. Treat yourself to a romantic weekend away and stay in this super cute Duck Lodge B&B complete with hot tub.

Stanlake Park Wine Estate 

Located near Twyford, Stanlake Park is set across 150 acres of picturesque grounds and approached by a sweeping tree-lined driveway. The tour includes six wines - white, rosé, red and sparkling. Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey

We couldn't not mention Denbies Wine Estate, located near Dorking. Great for a day trip out of London, the popular site attracts 300,000 visitors a year and boasts 265 acres under vines. Roll into bed at the Denbies Vineyard Hotel, England's first carbon-neutral vineyard hotel.
