Have you booked a holiday in 2021? There have been mixed messages about whether it may be safe and advisable to travel this year, prompting many people to delay booking their next trip.

But holiday operators have revealed that they have seen "record sales" in February – so will there be any holidays left once the coronavirus restrictions ease? Penelope Dale of Classic Cottages suggests acting fast if you want any chance of getting away.
"We are seeing huge sales volumes at the moment. We had a record sales week in the first week of February which was quite something, and a similarly big week last week too.

"Due to this high volume and the fact that so many guests booked earlier and secured their 2021 holiday in autumn last year, we are currently tracking +50% for 2021 occupancy levels vs previous years," Penelope told HELLO!.
She added: "Importantly, if you're looking for something for your family this summer you should snap it up soon."

It is thought that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's roadmap for lifting COVID-19 restrictions will not allow the hospitality industry to return to normal until July. However, there are talks about a limited restart in April with pubs and hotels potentially reopening. Boris will likely shed light on possible holidays during his announcement on 22 February.
For those not willing to brave booking an international holiday, the UK offers plenty of beautiful staycations, from coastal retreats to city breaks – which The Points Guy UK suggested will be more popular than ever.

Speaking of how COVID-19 will change travel in 2021, he predicted: "The pandemic has helped Brits find love again for the road trip. Instead of flying off for the weekend or renting a car for a day trip, we decided it was time to own our own vehicle. Our summer was filled with hiking, trips to the beach and journeys to cute little towns within a two-hour drive.
"Other families have purchased recreational vehicles. Such purchases are not cheap and will likely steer travel decisions for the next several years."
