Dance the night away at Mamma Mia! The Party
Calling all Souper Troupers, it's time to live out your Dancing Queen fantasy as your delicious three-course meal at Nikos Taverna turns into a glittering finale, fabulous disco and ABBA extravaganza.
Anyone who's spent a summer abroad will know that nothing quite beats the delights of soaking up the last of the sun setting into the sea on a balmy evening whilst tucking into mezze and mojitos - but Mamma Mia! The Party at the O2 is pretty close. As soon as you step into Nikos Taverna, you'll forget you're in London. Guests are transported into a hidden oasis amongst the city, with settings so believable it's hard to remember you're not on holiday in Skopelos.
This theatre-come-dining immersive experience showcases the very best of ABBA's legendary music and a hilarious new story adapted by Sandi Toksvig. Whether you're a couple, family, hen party or frienship group, you'll be taken from dinner to dancing and find yourself lost in a fabulous dream world for the night. HELLO! hit the O2 to se if the Party lived up to the hype, and after singing 'til we were blue in the face and indulging in a tempting array of Greek cuisine, it was clear to see there wasn't a face without a smile, nor a song without a dance at this ecelctic evening.

Have the most unique afternoon tea
Now this is an afternoon tea like you've never tried before. The Carlton Tower Jumeirah hotel has launched a new menu by former World's Best Pastry Chef, Jessica Prealpato, inspired by the botanics and flora of Kew Gardens. In keeping with Jessica's signature concept of Desseralité, a mixture of the words dessert and naturalité, her afternoon tea offers a non-traditional and highly unique alternative from start to finish.
For example, who would have thought you'd start the meal with appetite-opening salsify rice crackers and cavolo nero mayonnaise? Next up is a trio of savoury delights including a truffle croissant with duck egg, and a smoked ham and Comte cheese sandwich.
The scones are always a staple of afternoon tea but Jessica's experience, which consists of a flight of small five scones, is a real highlight. Each one has a different flavour from dried nettle to charcoal rosemary, and a particular jam, marmalade or chutney to pair it with. Don't go mixing them up – Jessica is very precise about which scone goes with which condiment, or so we're told.
As for the patisseries, these are beautifully presented in a gilded cage and are almost too pretty to eat. The strawberry tart which has layer of basil pesto is an unexpected treat, while the chocolate choux pastry is every chocoholic's dream.

Have an Indian feast at Somerset House
A truly breathtaking place to dine, Somerset House is home to chef Dipna Anand's eponymous restaurant and is well worth a visit for dinner, especially over the long summer evenings. It's a sophisticated yet relaxed venue where tables are spread out across different rooms in the South Wing, making it feel like you're dining in someone's very chic home!
Championing the Punjabi and South Indian cuisine Dipna is known and loved for, there are plenty of classic favourites on the menu, such as chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani. But dishes we wholly recommend include the flavoursome salmon tandoori for starters, the Delhi Wala makhani chicken for mains (also known as butter chicken) to be mopped up with the indulgent buttered naan, and the black lentils in the form of dhal makhani for sides.

Fancy steak? Then pay a visit to one of the six London sites of Macellaio RC, who have welcomed their new Executive Chef Lello Favuzzi. The fabulous new menu comes with an authentic Italian feast, including more vegetarian dishes with stainability at its core. Highlights include Tuna Tartare with avocado, spicy mango and crispy Carasau bread; Fassona beef carpaccio, rocket pesto, and parmesan and Apulian burrata. Followed by a choice of authentic pastas, including Trofie with Genovese pesto with basil, parmesan, spring beans and toasted pine nuts or Burrata and Ricotta Tortelli with brown butter, hazelnuts, aged balsamic and sage. Mains include Roasted Seabass with grilled asparagus, Tropea onion jam and Sicilian salt; the classic Rump Steak with a sweet pepper salad, Taggiasca olives and capers and Fire roasted cauliflower with sesame and yoghurt, ve-du-ja (vegan nduja), oregano and mint.
For any meat dish on the menu, the restaurant group uses the Costa method, a procedure that aims at obtaining the best results from a single cut of beef. It begins with choosing the right breed and treating it with respect, then handling it in the correct way: this selection can only be made inside those farms run by people who supply sustainable, ethical, and organic beef cattle. Proving that sustainability is at the core of the business. To finish off the perfect Italian feast, opt for a classic Tiramisu, Home Made Gelato or Pineapple Carpaccio.

Have the best steamed buns at Mr Bao
If you're a fan of baos, then promptly make your way to Mr Bao in Peckham, one of the best places in south London to try Taiwenese steamed buns. The casual eatery - which is always fully booked, so reserve ahead - may have a small menu, but there's enough to keep you entertained and we recommend trying a variety of the baos.
The buns are served perfectly warm and fluffy and you can see why there's so much hype around the Peckham institution. Try the Bao Diddley (succulent 24-hour marinated fried chicken topped with house kimchi and wasabi mayo) and the signature Mr Bao (slow braised pork belly with house pickles, roasted peanut and coriander). There's also always a special, which when we visited, was the sweet potato bao.
Tuck into some sharing plates too which are small in size but deceptively filling. Dishes to look out for include the fried pork dumplings, sweet potato chips with wasabi mayo, and the sesame spinach.

Have a Filipino feast
If you've never tried Filipino food or you're a fanatic for the Asian cuisine, then casual eatery Kasa & Kin is a good place to start. The Soho restaurant delivers a modern and contemporary take on some of the Philippines' classic dishes while using grandmother's recipes as a base for its menu. The ethos is all about feasting, friends, family, and fiesta time and this is clearly reflected in the restaurant's colourful décor as well as its generously-sized dishes.
Start off by sharing some of the chilled spring rolls, a refreshing take on the deep-fat fried rolls you may be used to seeing in Asian cuisine. The spiced shrimp is an absolute winner. BBQ is at the heart of the menu and we highly recommend the octopus laid on a base of spiced chorizo – an unusual but welcome sight on a Filipino menu – as well as the lemongrass chicken Inasal, a typical barbecued chicken dish with a strong smoky flavour. Vegetarians will love the smoked aubergine and the roasted cauliflower, as well as some of the lighter side salads like the papaya atchara. Meanwhile, the classics on the menu range from the crispy pork belly to the vegetable adobo.
Make sure to check out the cocktail menu as well. The bright purple ube martini is a feast for the eyes and senses and oh-so Instagrammable!

The restaurant, famed for its Japanese, Peruvian and Brazilian fusion cuisine, has a prime position on the piazza and the best seats in the house can be found either on the terrace downstairs or on the wraparound upstairs terrace of the Grade II-listed building.
Settle down for a post-shopping feast or a pre-theatre dinner and enjoy people-watching as you dine on some of London's best sushi, sashimi, robata, and signature Samba rolls. Sharing dishes that are sure to please include the Tiger Maki made up of tiger prawn tempura and crab meat, as well as everyone's favourite California roll. Tempura fans will love the shrimp tempura, made all the more exciting with the spicy mayo and black truffle vinaigrette, as well as the moreish asparagus tempura that comes with a chilli and kaffir leaf jam.
For dessert, tuck into the assorted mochi platter. The soft Japanese rice cakes are filled with different flavoured ice cream - perfect for cooling down in the heatwave.

Sample cocktails inspired by London's infamous history
Soak up the sun with a quirky cocktail (or two) at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane this summer from their brand new floral-inspired menu. What's more, the hotel's new drinks range has been inspired by the capital's almost unbelievable tale surrounding King Charles II and Green Park. According to history, King Charles II would take a walk from Buckingham Palace to Green Park to pick up flowers to impress his mistress. His wife, Queen Catherine of Braganza, ordered for the flowers to be removed from the park after hearing the news - which is how Green Park got its name. Even now, the famous park is the only one in the capital without planted flower beds.
Cocktails on the menu created by the hotel's mixologists include the King Charle's English Rose - with English rose petals, rose liquer, maraschino, citrus and tonic, the Queen Catherine's Revenge - with yellow absinthe, chartreuse, apricot brandy and homepage marigold honey syrup. The Mistresses Martini completes the collection, with red carnations, clarified watermelon, vodka and red carnation syrup.
The collection is available until 30 September, for more information viist marriott.com/hotels
Cool down with a Cointreau cocktail at Bar 31
Celebrating the arrival of the warmer weather, Cointreau has teamed up with Bar 31 at Shangri-La The Shard, London to launch a new Summer Cocktail Terrace. Serving up a host of seasonal Cointreau cocktails and frozen margaritas, the terrace offers Londoners a prime new drinking spot in the heart of the city - perfect for after-work drinks when you don't want to face the tube in the heat at rush hour! Our favourite? The Mandarin Spritz with Cointreau, Clementine, Rosemary, and Prosecco (if you're usually an Aperol girl!) and Margot with Cointreau, Tequila Blanco, Pink Grapefruit, and honey (if you can't live without a margarita).
