Tye White, star of NBC comedy American Auto, and his British-born wife Rania Nasreen White have shared gorgeous pictures from their first vacation as a family of four, exclusively with HELLO!
The family hit the Xcaret Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico for a week in mid-August, where Tye and Rania treated their two daughters to swimming with dolphins and pool days with daddy, and managed to sneak in a moment or two for themselves. "We wanted to take the girls someplace, enjoy a little vacation while we have some downtime, and it was way more kid-friendly than I could ever hope for," the actor, 39, told HELLO!, of his little girls, Inaayah Nnalesi, three, and one-year-old Asaanah Nnasia.
Despite their children being so young, the pair – who married in 2018 – said they would do it all over again, after having made forever family memories including seeing their youngest take her first steps at the resort.
"Her birthday was August 3 so she was kind of taking a step or two but when we got there, she started walking fully and luckily we have video of the moment. It felt like she knew, 'This is a new place and I need to explore and crawling is taking too long,'" said the actor, who has also appeared as Aiden Hanna, son of Sam Hanna (played by LL Cool J) in the CBS procedural series NCIS: Los Angeles.
The resort is nestled among the stunning white beach of Playa del Carmen, outside of Tulum, and is perfect for families with children with the ease of an all-inclusive.
The hotel features 900 suites, many looking out on over the horizon, a five-Diamond service, and unlimited access to all seven of Xcaret’s parks, including underground rivers, a zip-line park known as the most visited in the world, and Tour Xenotes, where daredevils can rappel and kayak among the cenotes, aka natural sinkholes.
There is also the option to shuttle throughout the various parks, and guests can use the ferry to Isla Mujeres, 13 kilometers off the coast from Cancún and a glorious place to scuba and snorkel to see the coral reef.
Among the plentiful options available, the young family spent their days together enjoying breakfast and soaking in the sunshine, splashing around in the pools, coasting down the slides one after the other, and exploring the natural area.
"We went swimming with the fish, and it was so clear, you could see the fish so clearly and my daughter was blown away," Tye shares, revealing that swimming with dolphins alongside his daughters will be a memory he will never forget.
"Both my girls happily got in, and they swam with the dolphins, were allowed to pet the dolphins, and we have photos… it was just amazing."
As with any good resort, the food was too-die-for, and Tye singles out the steakhouse, recommending the Sunday brunch there for all guests, and an evening date night for the adults, detailing how the chef "kept bringing around different cuts of meat… this was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had".
But for Tye and Rania, date nights do look a little different post-children – but it's not always a bad thing.
"We were able to sneak our alone time after we put them down for bed," he shared, revealing that they made the most of the jacuzzi on their balcony, enjoying glasses of wine with a view out over the ocean.
"It was date night in the room, we would talk and laugh and it was lovely – as parents, you just find a way to make time to be with each other."
