Liv Tyler's partner Dave Gardner has shared the first picture of the couple's newborn son. Three days after his new baby entered the world on Wednesday 11 February, Dave posted a sweet snapshot of his son's tiny hand holding onto his little finger. "Our little one has arrived," Dave captioned the photo. "Beautiful baby boy... Happy Valentine's Day @misslivalittle."

Given that Liv and Dave's baby arrived six weeks early, the actress and her little boy are expected to stay in hospital for several days. "He's healthy and everyone is very happy," a spokesperson for the couple told People. "But he will need to remain in the hospital for some time."

Dave's Instagram picture came the day after Liv's half-sister Mia Tyler and her father Steven Tyler shared a picture of themselves in hospital with the radiant new mum. The Aerosmith frontman wrote in a Facebook post that when he got the call to say that his daughter had gone into labour early, he jumped straight on the first plane to New York to be by her side. "After crying like a baby myself, I immediately dropped everything and went to the airport to get on the next available flight," he wrote. "When I landed I kept calling my daughter Mia who was already helping Liv and she kept giving me minute by minute updates, [saying] "HURRY THE BABY IS COMING!"

"I made it RIGHT in time before my second grandson entered this world," he added. "It was another (God wink) moment of a lifetime for me." Liv and Dave's baby boy joins big brothers Milo, 10, from Liv's previous marriage to Royston Langdon, and seven-year-old Gray, who is Dave's son with Davinia Taylor. Dave, who is a close friend of David Beckham's, has been dating Liv since summer 2014. The pair went public with their romance in August, when they were pictured holding hands together as they left DJ Nick Grimshaw's 30th birthday party together.
